REALLY simulating the Supply Chain Block 1-2

Today we completed a second pass on our DC inbound processes. We enhanced it both visually and with a detailed inspection process by using a process flow. But we are not finished yet!

Predicting and assuring the reliability and performance of the whole system when the key design elements have been defined by parts normally on Excel sheets becomes nearly impossible.

Simulation is representing a system (an array of processes) using software to understand it and improve its performance. It is widely used by best in class companies to design and iprove complex system through teamwork. Whether it be manufacturing, logistics, clerical processes or everything together. It allows the team to control experimental variables under low risk and cost, all in a 3D environment!

The PROCESS FLOW, has bumped up FlexSim's capacity to easily model anything you want!

Today's key concepts:

  1. CHANGE OBJECT SHAPE

  2. CHANGE OBJECT TEXTURE

  3. PATH NETWORK

  4. ASSIGN TASK EXECUTER TO NETWORK

  5. PROCESS FLOW

  6. SPLIT AND MANAGE VIEWS

  7. PROCESS LIBRARY

  8. TOKENS

  9. TOKEN LABELS

  10. TASK SEQUENCE T.S.

  11. EXTRACT ACTIVITY W/Ctrl

Come back for the next video where we will be completing our inbound flow by distinguishing betweeen SKUs and adding some policies to our putaway process.
