REALLY simulating the Supply Chain Block 1-8

Today we learn how to compare the efficiency of three different picking routes on the picking model we created. We also measure and display their performance with an exciting feature called Dashboards! Dashboards are a major FlexSim feature that allows you to summarize, transform and present information from your model to really make your project shine.

Our second DC model is finally finished and ready for you to use!

I was surprised with how easy it is to make a histogram. You simply point to the raw data set and, voilà!

Today's key concepts:

  1. DASHBOARDS

  2. HISTOGRAMS

  3. CALCULATED TABLES

  4. CODE EDITOR

  5. DATA TYPES

  6. LOCAL VARIABLES

  7. LOGS

  8. STATISTICAL VALIDITY

Dashboards allow you to use literally dozens of prefabricated graph templates to record KPIs as basic as inputs or outputs or display your cycle times, staytimes, resource states, inventory levels across time, and things much more complex.

Dashboard elements can be added by dragging elements from the library or pining a statistic from an object. Dashboard elements can gather their data directly from a Table or calculated table, or from a statistics collector that can basically listen to any event happening in the simulation.

Up and coming...the first problem set for you to assess your learning progress!
